Empowering Energy Efficiency Awareness through a Holistic Educational Approach – ENERGEIA

MAIN OBJECTIVE

ENERGEIA aims to increase the level of desirability and knowledge on renewable energy and energy efficiency in a holistic approach based on three dimensions: 1) economic (companies); 2) social (general public); 3) educational (tomorrow’s energy professionals).

Relevant results:

  • Awareness materials, increasing expertise in awareness events at the community level and raising the knowledge and awareness in the internal environment of TUCN and project partners.
  • Raising the knowledge level and facilitate the acceptance of the new technologies and tools in renewable energy (RES) and energy efficiency (EE) at economic and societal level.
  • Enhancing the international dimension to ensure access to the category of world-class universities, according to the QS STARS RATING SYSTEM criteria, or other relevant rankings.
  • Connecting the academic community to the European and world academic environment, facilitating the connection of the local and regional community to the globalized flow of knowledge and values.
  • Generating relevant knowledge through research and innovation pursuing results that bring prestige and visibility to the university and that are also transferable in products and solutions.

Project outputs

  • 5 awareness raising campaigns;
  • 111 people completing comprehensive (more than 2 days) trainings on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security;
  • 30 people completing credit giving education at tertiary level;
  • 150 people completing short (less than 2 days) trainings on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security implemented;
  • 3725 people reached by the awareness‐raising on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security;
  • 5 new developed training materials;
  • 15 awareness materials.

EnTReC main contribution

  • Project coordinator & management responsible;
  • Assessing the energy culture and the level of energy efficiency awareness in companies and public bodies at local region;
  • Creation of awareness/ training materials in EE and RES field;
  • Organizing awareness campaigns and trainings activities for companies, public bodies and future energy professionals;
  • Organizing postgraduate course for energy managers and energy professionals
